What autumn actually shifts demand towards
As the weather turns, jobs that were easy to put off in summer suddenly matter: gaps around doors and windows that let cold air in, guttering that needs clearing before the leaves properly fall, shelving and storage put up before everything moves indoors for winter, and small outdoor repairs that are far more pleasant to do in October than in January.
